Our Transition Year students organised a fantastic bake sale last week in aid of Milford Hospice. Together with the money raised from a coffee morning in the staffroom, a fantastic total of €640.10 will be donated to this very worthy cause.
A huge well done to our TY students for their hard work and initiative, and a sincere thank you to everyone who supported and gave so generously 🧁🍰👏 ... See MoreSee Less
We were delighted this week to welcome the German students from Riesener Gymnasium in Gladbeck to St. John Bosco Community College for the return visit of our school exchange programme! This wonderful exchange is funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which has been in operation in our school for the last number of years, providing incredible opportunities for our students. Accompanied by their teacher, Frau Schróer, the visiting students stayed with their local host partners, attended school life with us, and fully immersed themselves in Irish culture. Together, we explored the beautiful sights of Galway, adventured into Aillwee Cave, and took in the breathtaking views at the Cliffs of Moher. They even got to experience a traffic jam courtesy of some local Burren sheep on Corkscrew hill and the excitement of local Gaelic football matches! Amidst all the fun and travel, the students also worked hard and completed a project focused on Sustainability. The entire exchange was a success, building wonderful memories and lifelong friendships. A huge thank you to the host families, teachers, and everyone who made this week so unforgettable! 🇩🇪🇮🇪🇪🇺 Riesener-Gymnasium Gladbeck ... See MoreSee Less
Our Junior B team got their campaign off to a fantastic start on Wednesday, September 30th, with an impressive victory over Templemore. 👏
The girls put on an incredible display of high-quality football from start to finish, showing great skill, determination and teamwork throughout the game.
Chloe Donnelly, Aoibhín Keane, Anna Donnelly, Caoimhe McMahon and Shona Talty were among those who showed fantastic leadership on the field, helping drive the team forward and set the standard for a brilliant performance. 💪
A huge well done to all the girls on a fantastic opening result! The team will now turn their attention to their next group-stage game against St. Flannan’s.
The school is thrilled to introduce the newly elected members of our Dáil na Scoile - a passionate group of students who have stepped up to represent and serve our student body. Today we were delighted to welcome Ms Elizabeth Flanagan to our school to mentor and train our newly elected team. Her guidance and expertise will be invaluable as our students begin their role as student representatives. ... See MoreSee Less

Three Transition Year students from St. John Bosco Community College, Kildysart, Brian Conway, Olive Quinn and Sarah McGee are delighted to be selected to travel to Missionvale, South Africa as volunteers in February 2027. St. John Bosco Community College has strong links with Missionvale and this will be the school's eleventh time sending students to participate in the project with 27 students having availed of this wonderful, unique experience, to date. When in Missionvale, the students will have the opportunity to work in the Missionvale Care Centre, in the school, in the garden and in the Nutrition centre as well as visiting the Township where the people live.
None of the improvements and developments in Missionvale would have happened without the vision and determination of Sr. Ethel Normoyle (RIP) and the support she received from others especially the people of Ireland and Co. Clare. Thankfully Sr. Ethel had the vision to empower others to continue the great work she started and today the Missionvale Care Centre continues to serve the impoverished community of Missionvale.
Please support our fundraising towards the cost of our trip and all additional money collected will go directly to Missionvale Care Centre.
